Take the next step with our Level II Course

Level II Sculling and Sweep Rowing is for the individual who has completed a Learn to Row Level I sculling program (in a “tub”) or has previous sweep rowing experience. This class will take you to the next level of rowing or provide a refresher course for those who have been out of rowing for a while. Scullers will move into a regular (narrower) width boat and may be part of a team boat such as a Quad or a Double. Sweepers will be part of a team boat such as a coxed Four or Pair. The goal of the class is to help you improve your rowing skills and be given simple workouts to execute. We offer the option of four, six or eight 1.5-hour classes.

Previous LTR sculling or sweep rowing experience is required. When registering, you may opt to only scull or participate in both sweep and sculling. Sweep rowing will be dependent on the number of sweep participants at each practice. Passing a flip test is mandatory and will be part of the beginning of the class. If you passed a flip test at the end of your LTR class, that will be counted. Coaches will determine a participant's class readiness in their discretion.

A flip test shows your ability to flip a single while in it and then get back into the boat without assistance. A coach will supervise this test. If you are unable to complete getting back into the single, you will be required to wear a waist style life preserver. It looks like a fanny pack and can be worn while rowing.
